Life, the yolk of an egg, can sometimes endure much and sometimes little – with only the thin egg-shell as a protection. Life is fragile, and yet you can bear so much. As an artist you have to let yourself be vulnerable. By mirroring the revealed egg I protect it. As I try to protect myself.

SOLD Oil on canvas, 105x70cm (41,3x27,6") I have a crush on old cars, since I don’t owe one, I got some spark plugs from 1954 instead – and I just have to wish for the rest. One should think it would be easier to paint instead of the whole car, but after trying this, I am not so sure. It is a beautiful contrast in porcelain and the old metal. One of the spark plugs is raising its finger saying old cars is nothing for him – the other one is coming towards him… So you never know.
